Below are some samples of my work…
The Alaska Statewide Mentor Project was initially in need of an informational website to be used by mentor teachers, the beginning teachers they serve, and anyone else seeking information about the program. The design was guided by print materials developed by coworkers. I feel I was able to put together an easy to navigate site which does well to convey the essence of such an important program.
Further development included the addition of a video repository sub-site and a data collection component featuring multiple forms and database tables along with data display and download features.
"Design is an iterative process, so working with a web professional who knows how to connect with project administrators to meet the needs of end-users is flat-out essential, a "must have". Greg's ability to listen to our goals, provide expert feedback, and work constructively to realize our vision—all while keeping the client happy and energized!—is difficult to match, let alone exceed. He's standard-setting. Period."
—Joe Jordan, University of Alaska Statewide Mentor Project
The Future Educators of Alaska website began as an informational resource for the public about the program and also for the program advisors throughout Alaska along with their students who are interested in pursuing careers in education. The site has grown significantly and now includes a large data collection component that allows for program advisors to report on student enrollment and various club activities. Other additions include a wiki which is used by the FEA clubs and even a blog.
"Greg has transformed our Future Educators of Alaska program website, and I highly recommend his service to others who would like to enhance their current website or are thinking about creating one. His expertise allowed us to increase communication across Alaska, to streamline data collection and reporting, and to have a website that is functional and user friendly! "
—Sonta Hamilton, Program Director, Future Educators of Alaska
Adirondack Physical & Occupational Therapy, a privately owned physical and occupational therapy business in upstate NY, now has a solid website to help provide patients with information about their numerous services. I focused on developing a straightforward, professional design with an easily navigable interface to showcase the wealth of content they have to share about their business. I've also set up a blog for use as a means to share their latest updates.
Atlantic Billing & Coding, a newcomer to the medical billing and practice management industry, needed a solid website to help get the word out about their business. I provided them with a clean, professional design and an easily navigable site which clearly portrays their available services. The site also contains a "Request A Quote" feature, which allows potential clients to quickly get in contact with Atlantic Billing & Coding.
Putting this site together was rather personal, as Greg's Restaurant was my father's and is now my brother's place. I found myself feeling hungry much of the time I was working on this project. I was able to put together an appealing site that does a nice job highlighting the food and atmosphere of the restaurant. Features include a slideshow on the homepage and an integrated blog that is being used for the Specials page.
Alaska friend and musher Brent Sass needed a website to help spread the word about his growing mushing enterprise. The site is a sprawling resource, continually expanding to keep up with Brent and his frenetic pace. Photo and video galleries, individual dog bios and photos, blogs and racing stories are just some of the features.
This was the website I built for the Trainor Group back in 2006. I like how the design turned out, melding clean lines with the chemical models that were held in the background. The site is an informational resource for Dr. Trainor and the rest of his group's research.
I built this site for the Simpson Group back in 2007. The header design featured a transition from a photograph of lead ice on the northern Alaska shore to a simplified, filtered version of the same photo. I was pleased with the way that effect turned out. The site is an informational resource for Dr. Simpson and the rest of his group's research.
